AEGIS is designed as a remote rescue intelligence platform. The robot enters a hazardous search area, gathers information, assists with analysis, maps important findings and presents them to human rescuers through Mission Control.
The workflow is designed to keep the rescuer in control. Automation can help organize and flag information, but important rescue decisions remain with trained people.
The robot is positioned at the edge of the search zone and connected to the AEGIS control interface.
The operator guides AEGIS through accessible routes while the system records mission movement and surroundings.
Cameras and planned environmental sensors gather observations that may reveal hazards or signs of human presence.
Software can assist by examining incoming data and flagging unusual or potentially important observations for review.
Important observations are associated with the robot's mission position so rescuers can understand where a finding occurred.
Mission Control brings together alerts, imagery, status and location context to support the rescue team's next decision.
When the system identifies an observation that may indicate a survivor, the intended workflow is to create a clear alert rather than automatically making a rescue decision.
